Kanye West vs Drake
Kanye West and Drake’s relationship broke down in 2018 after Kanye released a beat Drake said was meant for him and Drake accused Kanye of sharing private information with Pusha T; later diss tracks and a failed 2021 truce kept the feud unresolved.
Drake is a Canadian recording artist and actor whose career spans hip-hop, R&B, television and business projects connected to OVO and Drake Related.

Background
Drake and Kanye West spent years as collaborators and public admirers. Kanye produced Drake’s “Find Your Love,” they worked through overlapping music circles, and in 2016 they teased a joint project that was never released.
Their relationship broke down in 2018. Drake later said Kanye had first offered him the beat used for “Lift Yourself,” but Kanye released the track himself. Weeks later, Pusha T’s Kanye-produced album Daytona renewed Pusha’s existing feud with Drake.
Early Tension
Daytona closed with “Infrared,” which referred to the ghostwriting allegations involving Drake and Quentin Miller. Drake answered the same day with “Duppy Freestyle,” attacking both Pusha T and Kanye. Pusha then released “The Story of Adidon” and alleged that Drake had a son.
Drake later said Kanye had misled him during recording sessions in Wyoming and suggested that Kanye had shared private information with Pusha. Kanye apologised for the negative energy and denied giving Pusha information about Drake’s son. Pusha said the information came through private conversations involving Drake’s producer Noah “40” Shebib.
Escalation
The conflict reopened in December 2018 after Drake requested clearance for “Say What’s Real,” which used Kanye’s “Say You Will” beat. Kanye demanded an apology and accused Drake of threatening him; Drake did not publicly confirm that allegation.
In August 2021, Kanye treated a verse on Trippie Redd’s “Betrayal” as a Drake attack, posted a group-message screenshot and shared the location of Drake’s Toronto home. Drake later targeted Kanye on “7am on Bridle Path” and broadcast Kanye’s unreleased “Life of the Party.” J. Prince then helped arrange a public meeting and their joint Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert, creating a temporary public truce.
Current Status
The 2021 truce did not hold. On “Red Button” in 2023, Drake questioned whether the reconciliation had been sincere. In April 2024, Kanye joined the wider Drake diss cycle with a remix of “Like That” that attacked Drake and J. Cole.
Neither artist has announced another reconciliation. Their last major public exchange placed Kanye back among Drake’s opponents, so the relationship remains publicly unresolved.
