JD Vance is an American politician, author and former venture capitalist. He served in the United States Marine Corps, graduated from Ohio State University and Yale Law School, and gained national attention through his memoir Hillbilly Elegy. Vance represented Ohio in the United States Senate before becoming vice president of the United States in 2025.
